Pizza Oven FAQs

Should I choose a DIY kit or an assembled oven?

DIY pizza oven kits are the starting point for a custom enclosure. An assembled model reduces the enclosure work, but you still need to plan its support, location and installation. Compare the model specifications and installation manual before ordering.

Where do Residential and Commercial Hybrid ovens fit?

They are distinct models for different applications. The Hybrid DIY family appears in both DIY and Hybrids, with Residential or Commercial choices on its product page. The Commercial band also includes the Commercial Hybrid DIY kit alongside assembled Commercial Hybrids. For a business project, start with our commercial collection and confirm the model with our team.

How is the CBO-750 Mobile different from the Tailgater?

The CBO-750 Mobile is an oven on a wheeled stand. The Tailgater is an oven-and-trailer package for taking your cooking operation on the road. You'll find the Mobile under Assembled Wood-Fired Ovens and the Tailgater in the Commercial band. Compare mobile ovens and trailer packages.

How much does a CBO pizza oven cost?

Current available configurations start at:

  • DIY Pizza Oven Kits: from $3,399.
  • Assembled Wood-Fired Ovens: from $5,499.
  • Hybrid Pizza Ovens: from $8,249.
  • Commercial Pizza Ovens: from $3,399.

These are oven prices. Support or enclosure work, installation and any additional delivery services depend on your project. Ask our team for a project quote.

Should I choose wood-fired or Hybrid?

Choose a wood-only model for wood-fired cooking, or a Hybrid model for gas and wood options. Compare Hybrid pizza ovens and select the configuration suited to your application. Business projects can explore Commercial Hybrid models.

Why do some ovens show a starting price?

Fuel, finish and configuration can affect the price. Starting prices here use the lowest-priced available variant, not unavailable configurations. Open a product to review its current options and final price.

Where can I check installation and curing requirements?

Use the manual for your exact oven model. Installation, venting and curing requirements are model-specific. For general product questions, visit our current FAQ or ask our team about your project.

Can your team help before I order?

Yes. Request guidance or a quote for your intended use, oven configuration and delivery location. Review product details and our store policies before placing your order.

What wood should I use?

Choose dry, seasoned or kiln-dried hardwood suitable for cooking. Keep it covered and avoid painted, treated or resinous wood. Follow your model’s fuel instructions.

How long does an oven take to heat up?

Timing depends on oven size, fuel, weather, moisture and recent use. Heat gradually and check the cooking surface with an appropriate thermometer rather than relying on a fixed warm-up time.

Can I use my oven year-round?

Yes—with the installation, protection and operating practices specified for your model. Keep the oven and insulation dry, warm it more slowly in cold weather, and consult its recuring instructions after extended inactivity or moisture exposure.

How do I clean the cooking surface?

Once the oven has cooled appropriately, remove ash and food debris with an oven brush suitable for your model. Avoid adding moisture to the refractory hearth and dome. Hybrid gas components require their own model-specific maintenance.

What can I cook besides pizza?

Bread, vegetables, meat, casseroles and desserts are all options. Match cookware and recipes to the oven’s heat, and use suitable vessels to keep fat and liquids off the refractory surfaces.
